André Brunel, Vaucluse 2019
A rich and intense red from Southern Rhône is perfectly captured in this bottle. Using simply Grenache, this wine is an excellent example of the power in the single-variety wines of the region.
Characteristics
Tasting Notes:
The nose offers intense blueberry and blackberry aromas with a hint of vanilla and pepper. The palate shows intense fruits and creates a pleasant, easy-drinking feel.
Gastronomy:
Lamb is a perfect partner for this wine since it isn’t too heavy and overwhelming for this easy red. Duck and goose would be an excellent second choice. Can be pair with charcuterie.
Vineyards:
No pesticides or herbicides are used in the vineyard, and ground-covering is used to stimulate ground-life. Manual harvesting is done at optimal ripeness. All the wines are vegan-friendly, and the grapes are macerated for extended periods. They are produced in a style best to be enjoyed immediately. Andre Brunel was the first in Châteauneuf du Pape to introduce a non-chemical way to grape-growing.
The vineyards producing this cuvée are located to the north of Orange. Small yields and also clay-limestone subsoil bring elegance and finesse to this wine and the Grenache brings its fruit aromas and roundness.
Ageing method:
Neutral tank and oak barrels.
